2010 Appeal Decision - People (City of Santa Ana) v. Khaled

  This decision is final, and published. 

The case citation is believed to be:  People v. Khaled (2010) 186 Cal.App.4th Supp. 1

After the Orange County Superior Court Appellate Division, in May 2010, ruled in favor of Khaled and certified the case for publication, Redflex and at least three cities wrote to the California Supreme Court, asking it to deny publication.  Then, in mid-July, the 4th District Court of Appeal (the District Court of Appeal is the next level of appeal above a county's Appellate Division) asked for the case files to be sent to it, presumably so that they could consider whether to transfer the case to themselves for review.  Now, per a July 23 article in the Metropolitan News-Enterprise, "The ruling is now final after the Court of Appeal denied transfer, and was posted yesterday on the state courts website."
